The difference between double-layer tents and single-layer tents:
1.Different production techniques
The single-layer tent production process is relatively simple.
The double-layer tent adds a layer to the inner tent with better ventilation based on the design of the single-layer tent. The outer layer is waterproof and windproof,and the inner layer is breathable. The heat emitted by the human body will pass through the inner tent,condense on the inner wall of the outer tent,and then slide along the inner wall of the outer tent to the gap between the outer tent and the inner tent,so that the sleeping bag will not get wet.
2.Different volume operations
Single-layer tents are lightweight,occupy a small area,and are easier to build. Double-layer tents are larger,occupy more space when folded,occupy a larger area,and are more complicated to build.
3.Different use environment
Single-layer tents are mainly used for summer camping activities such as park leisure and beach leisure. It is generally used when you do not need to spend the night outdoors,and the price is relatively cheap. Double-layer tents are generally used for overnight camping,and they are also used for snow mountain climbing due to their light weight. In cooler seasons,the heat removed by the human body will condense water droplets on the inner wall of the tent under the action of the air outside the tent. If the water runs down the inside of the tent,it will wet the sleeping bag. After adding the inner tent,the heat emitted by the human body will pass through the inner tent,condense on the inner wall of the outer tent,and then slide along the inner wall of the outer tent to the gap between the outer tent and the inner tent,so that the sleeping bag will not get wet. Therefore,it is more suitable to use a single-layer tent when the general ambient temperature is above 5°C. When the ambient temperature is lower than 5°C,it is best to use a double-layer tent or a triple-layer tent because water will form on the inner wall of the tent.
Advantages of double-layer tents:
The tent provides a place for people to rest when camping. Everyone knows that the temperature will decrease at night,so the tent must be warm and windproof first. And because of the temperature difference between day and night,the humidity will be very heavy at night,so the tent should prevent moisture from soaking through. Especially in the mountains and forests,the fog is particularly heavy in the morning and evening,and the water vapor outside the tent is seriously condensed. If the fabric is not waterproof,small water droplets will seep out of the tent. If the tent becomes cold and wet,it will not provide a good resting place for people at all.
Because of the above two requirements for tents,single-layer tents cannot be used for camping. Although the single-layer tent is also made of thick and waterproof Oxford cloth,there is only one layer,the warmth and waterproofness cannot be tested for a long time,and it cannot adapt to the rain. The double-layer tent is different. Its design is divided into two layers:the outer tent and the inner tent. There is a space between the two layers,the outer tent keeps the wind and rain out,and the inner tent keeps it warm and dry. Whether it is raining or snowing,it can give travelers a safe place.
