The explosion of camping in 2022 has increased the cognitive demand for camping equipment from many friends. Among the camping equipment, the tent is the most representative and the most important equipment. How to classify? What types are there? Next, I will talk to novices about how to distinguish different types of tents.
According to the season of use:
1.Three-Season Tent
This type of tent is usually the most popular type of tent because the tent is designed for use during the favorite camping season – spring to fall. The design of this tent is relatively breathable and simple, and 2-3 camp pillars are often used to support the main body.
2.Summer Tent
The surroundings of this type of tent are almost all mesh, and the design focus is on mosquito prevention and ventilation, and rainwater is not the focus of consideration.

3.Four Season Tent or Alpine Tent
This type of tent is designed to be used in harsher environments, such as polar climbing, and is usually supported by four or more camp posts to increase strength, plus an independent camp post to support a wide vestibule.
According to the number of tent layers:
1.Double layer tent
It consists of two layers, the outer tent and the inner tent. The function of the outer tent is windproof, waterproof and warm, and the function of the inner tent is breathable. When camping outdoors, the space of the tent is relatively airtight, and the breath exhaled by people will condense into water droplets when breathing. If it is a double-layer tent, the water vapor will pass through the inner tent and condense into water droplets on the inner wall of the outer tent, which will not wet the sleeping bag. This is the main reason for choosing a breathable inner tent. Therefore, some parts of the inner tent are designed with mesh, which is the fastest and the most breathable.
2.Single layer tent
The single-layer tents currently on the market have poor air permeability and are generally used for leisure activities such as sunbathing in parks and are not suitable for outdoor camping.
According to the shape of the tent:
1.House-shaped tent
This kind of tent looks like a small house, square and light.
2.Mongolian yurt tent
Also known as a bell tent. A central pole supports the tent in the middle, and another pole supports the doorway. The windproof rope extends the canvas wall outwards to form a stable structure. A yurt tent that adapts to the four seasons.
3.Pyramid tent
This kind of tent is supported by a pole in the middle, forming a pyramid shape. Pyramid tents are generally single-layer, and made of waterproof fabric, and some tents will include a floor mat design.
4.Tunnel tent
The basic shape of this type of tent is composed of semi-circular columns at the front and back, which do not cross each other. The composition of the tunnel tent has always been low and cannot stand independently. It needs to be fixed by front and rear nails or ropes to form a shape.
